C's vs C's...LeBRON vs Rondo ...Game 5, ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!
Let me start by saying that whoever wins tonight will have a huge upper hand in this series, and I think tonight will pretty much decide the winner. So, yes it's a big game. I'm sure a lot of opinions are flying around as to what, or who, is the key to tonight's game. Though there are many, there is one major factor, this will decide the outcome.
Paul Pierce.
Yes. Not Rondo. Not Lebron. The Truth. Why do you ask? Well that answer is complex so allow me to explain. It was pretty hard to hide for the last 48 hours of shit talking going on between Rondo and Lebron. Lebron says he wants to guard Rondo, and that's the only way to slow him down. (notice how he didn't say stop, just slow) and Rondo responded basically by saying he doesn't give a shit who's guarding him. His game won't change or be affected. These are true statements.
Lets first point out that Lebron is an amazing defender. He will definitely slow Rondo down. But this is a huge, huge mistake by the Cavs, and the advantage of the Celtics for having so many offensive weapons. This is why Paul Pierce is the key to tonight's game. The Truth has been pretty much wasting space this entire series. He's been a non factor as far as points are concerned. Well, Lebron, congrats, you just woke a sleeping giant. If Lebron guards Rondo, that leaves Anthony Parker on Pierce. Thats a mismatch. A big one. Pierce has 3 inches on Parker and can shoot over him anytime he wants too. You're going to see a lot of Pierce shots from the elbow tonight. And think about it like this. You're in the weight room, you're lifting a dumbbell that's 60 pounds. Then you walk over and grab one that's 20 pounds. Gonna feel pretty light huh? Almost feel like you could throw it across the room? Yeah that's what Pierce will feel like at times during this game. He's had maybe the worlds best on ball defender guarding him all series, to be replaced by Anthony Parker. Parker can't stop Pierce. He just can't So Pierce needs to be ready, and able to knock down contested jump shots all night. That's the key to tonight's game. Once Pierce gets going, it's a wrap.
I still expect Rondo to have a big game in the assist column.
Tonight is where we find out who's got the heart of a champion and who's gonna be bitches about this. It will be a very close game. It could come down to the final shot. A lot of people think that Lebron won't get tired chasing Rondo around for 42 minutes. They must be blind. Rondo is faster than Lebron. Lebron will be tired. That will be a major factor coming into the final minutes because in those final minutes Lebron can't let Parker guard Pierce. It's too risky to allow a mismatch like that happen in the final 5 minutes of a playoff game.
We most likely will see Moon gets some quality minutes this game. That's cool because he sucks pretty bad so they are more than welcome to play him. I could care less.
So in conclusion, Paul Pierce needs to have a big game, and hopefully tonight Jack gets killed on Lost. Win win for everyone.
