Twins @ Red Sox Preview
The Sox somehow came up with a win last night even though they were down 5-0, but they can't keep digging themselves holes like that, and they also really need this rotation to start doing something. The good news is Buchholz is on the hill, and he has arguably been the Sox best pitcher so far this season.
Buchholz is 4-3 on the year with a 3.46 ERA. The problem with him is control. In each of his last 2 starts he has let up 5 walks. You just can't keep doing that and be successful. The Twins know how to work counts, so hopefully Buchholz is on his "A" game.
I know I'll probably take shit for this, but I have been starting to notice a difference when Tek and V-Mart are catching. In no way am I saying Tek should start everyday, but you can just feel a better game is being called when Tek is behind the plate. Just a thought, but I really notice it when Papelbon is pitching.
Anyways, The Twins have Scott Baker on the hill. He sucks (4-3, 4.93), and just got lit up by the Yankees. I expect the Sox to take out some frustration on him tonight on their way to a win.
Sox win 9-3
Players of the game: Buchholz/Drew
Game starts at 7:10pm on NESN.
