The Sox sure don't look to be ready, yet they still have to head to Yankee Stadium today. Tonight Boston has Dice-K vs. Hughes. Hughes has been the Yankees best pitcher this season. The right-hander allowed two runs and seven hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings of a 10-3 win over the Red Sox (19-19) on May 7. Five days later in Detroit, he gave up five hits in seven innings of an 8-0 win...so yea he has been good.
The Sox have to be impressed with the way Dice-K pitched last time out, but I am not sold that he is ready for this kind of stage. I have been wrong before, but I really don't like this matchup. The Sox aren't hitting the ball all that well, and I have serious questions about their bullpen.
Thank god this is only a 2 game series, because I just don't see the Sox winning tonight.
