Red Sox @ Rays Preview

The Red Sox might be starting to get on a role, and the addition of Ellsbury and Cameron should only help. Tonight the Sox have Lester going against Shields. In Lester's last 6 outing he is 4-0 with a 1.65 ERA, racking up 49 strikeouts over 43 2-3 innings in that stretch. It isn't just Lester whose been enjoying success recently, as Boston starters have gone 5-1 with a 1.64 ERA in the club's last six games (all against division leaders).

But that might not be the only reason the Sox have looked better recently. Ortiz is finally starting to hit the ball, and it is amazing how much different the lineup looks when he is hitting well. He is going to need to today, as Boston will have to play without V-Mart who took a ball off his foot last night.

The Sox have done well against Shields (4-7 5.33 ERA, and I suspect it will be the same tonight.

Sox win 6-2
