Red Sox vs. Yankees Preview
Heartbreaking loss last night, and I don't see tonight being too much better with Beckett going against Yankee's ace CC Sabathia. This will be the first time in 11 days that Beckett has pitched. I hope that this means he will be ready to go, but from what I have seen this season there really isn't much of a reason he will be better. The Red Sox have lost 8 straight games at Yankee Stadium. CC will look to make it 9 with his 4-3 record and 3.71 ERA.
It has been an odd year for the Red Sox. Boston is 2nd in the league in runs, yet it is their rotation that has been up and down (Boston starters have a 5.16 ERA that ranks near the bottom of the league). I really don't feel good about any part of this team right now. Papelbon got lit up last night, and that bullpen scares me in general. The hitting is inconsistent, and seems to only beat up on bad pitching, and the fielding is not anywhere near as good as scouts thought it would be.
It all adds up to another rough night in the Bronx. Wake me up when Ellsbury and Cameron are back.
Yankees win 8-6
Player of the Game: Jeter
Game starts at 7:05pm on NESN.
Cameron Injury Update:
Red Sox manager Terry Francona says outfielder Mike Cameron isn't quite ready to return to the team. Cameron is experiencing some tenderness in a different area of his injured abdomen, and Francona says he just wants to make sure he's ready to go when he comes off the disabled list. Cameron worked with a trainer on Monday at Fenway Park and is expected to do the same on Tuesday. Francona says he could play another rehab game on Wednesday at Double-A Portland.
He's not even that great, but he is way better then what the Sox have out their now. Fuck.
