One More Run

O.k. It took me a while to recover from the loss, but I was thinking about it and the Celtics I believe have one more run in them. I mean let's face it, we just were in the championship, getting back there shouldn't be that hard.

The way the salaries are, even with Ray Allen, and the rest of the bunch coming off the books, we are STILL over the cap at 63 million with Rondo, Baby, Perk, Sheed, KG and Pierce under contract, but we do have some room to work with. Even if Rasheed retires that still brings the Celtics down to around the top of the salary cap.

Ray has said that he wants to stay in Boston, he moved his whole family here, and at this point he acquired enough money throughout his NBA career where he doesn't need much more. So I think it's very likely that Ray will stay with us and sign a 2 years, 10ish million dollar deal.

So we re-sign Ray, and then re-sign Tony Allen who will be reasonable and even give Nate a full season in green. And to fill out your roster you have a mid level exception and a veteran minimum and a rookie contract. With the midlevel you could sign a player like Matt Barnes (who opted out in Orlando) and try to lure Brandon Haywood in so both of them split that. Then sign some veteran and hopefully we can get a NBA ready scoring swingman and that's how the Celtics win another title.

Easier said then done, but we might as well try to take advantage of KG and Paul when they are still under contract.
