The Rockets have won 16 in a row, and 4 without Yao Ming. I am not saying Yao Ming is a bad player to any extent, but I am just saying the Rockets are gelling better without Yao. Much like last year, when Dikembe Mutombo plays, it lets Tracy McGrady do his own thing without worrying about pleasing Yao. With Yao gone, it makes the Rockets a full team, rather than a 2 man show. Shane Battier, Carl Landry, Rafer Alston, Luis Scola and Luther Head have all been an intricate part of life without Yao. I still don't believe the Rockets will make noise in the play-offs, but I didn't believe they would with Yao. Both Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming have yet to get out of the first round in their play-offs.

Dikembe Mutombo Makes Rockets Better
