It is not official yet, but reports out of ESPNews are saying that the New England Patriots are close to signing safety John Lynch. The Patriots are only making this move, because they lost Tank Williams last week for the year, and they need more depth at the safety position. I like this move, because we all know Harrison will get hurt at some point in the season, and these two players are very similar. Both are hard hitting, run stopping safeties. What worries me is that the Patriots still are very vulnerable to the deep pass, because both safeties struggle in pass coverage. Still, this is a solid signing, and the Patriots love veterans that want one more chance at glory.
