Umenyiora Done for Season
On Sunday the Giants lost defensive end Osi Umenyiora for the season after suffering an injury in Saturday’s pre-season game against the Jets. This would suck if I was a Giants fan, but since I hate the Giants, this is terrific news. First Strahan retires, then Shockey gets traded, and now Osi tears a ligament in his knee. This essentially ends all chances of the Giants making the playoffs this season. The NFC East is as competitive as ever and an undermanned Giants squad will struggle to keep their heads above water. Umenyiora is a sack machine and with him and Strahan gone, the Giants are screwed at defensive end. His absence will be noted, and could possibly lead to the Giants moving around players in order to fill the void.
