Patriots Cut Fernando Bryant
The Patriots had to get their roster down to 53, and one of the surprising cuts was Fernando Bryant. Bryant was supposed to be a starting conerback, but now it will be either Wheatley or Lewis starting across from Hobbs. Wheatley is the most talented, but is a rookie, and struggled early in preseason. If Wheatley does start it will give the Patriots the smallest starting CB in the NFL. There are rumors going around that Bryant was cut, because the Patriots are looking to sign Ty Law (I really hope that's true). Still, I am actually getting really worried about the Patriots pass defense, hopefully the defensive line will be awesome this year, and put QBs in bad situations so the CB can take advantage.
Here is the rest of the cuts:
DL Titus Adams
TE Tyson DeVree
S Mark Dillard
C Mike Flynn
RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis
LB Vince Redd
CB Mike Richardson
T Stephen Sene
S Antwain Spann
DL Santonio Thomas
G John Welbourn
Also... LB Bo Ruud and DL Kenny Smith were placed on season-ending injured reserve.
**UPDATE: John Lynch, and Chad Jackson have been cut...how Cassell is still on the team is a mystery.
