Yankees Beat Sox In Last Meeting At Yankee Stadium 3-2

The Sox lost a tough one in the bottom of the 9th at Yankee Stadium. This will most likely the last time the Sox will be at Yankee Stadium, as the Yankees move to their new stadium next year, and the Yankees will probably not make the playoffs.

The game started with a great pitching duel Lester vs. Mussina. Both pitcher held up their end of the bargain as Lester pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing only 1 run on 5 hits with 8 Ks, and Mussina went 7 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits with 6 Ks. The Sox were up 2-0 going into the bottom of the 7th till Lester started to get tired, and let up 2 runs on Jason Giambi 2 run HR. Giambi was not down though, in the bottom of the 9th he hit the game winning rbi single off Papelbon. So, the last memory at Yankee Stadium will be a lot like the rest of the memories the Sox have there..heart breaking, but at least this time we know that our season is actually going somewhere, while the Yankees is basically over.
