Homerun Production Down. Drug Testing The Problem?

This year the home run production has been down and I know the culprit. The pesky steroid testing. Personally, I think steroids should be aloud to be used in baseball but that is a different topic for another time. This year an average of 2.01 home runs were hit per game dropping .04 from last year. Miguel Cabrera leads the AL with 37 homeruns this year, it's lowest total since Fred McGriff hit 35 for San Diego.

Everything was down this year from runs, slugging, and even total bases. I know everyone is trying to clean up the sport, but is this what people really want to see? If we are getting out of the "Steroid Era" we are certainly entering the "Boring Era" in baseball.
