White Sox Eliminate Twins
The White Sox beat the Twins tonight, and will be the last team into the playoffs. It was a pitching duel tonight, but one blast from Jim Thome's bat changed the game. Thome came up in the bottom of the 7th and hit one of the furthest HRs I have ever seen, and the White Sox won 1-0. The White Sox now move on to face Tampa Bay, and although the Twins' season is over they have to be impressed with what they were able to do this year. Most people didn't think that this team would be above .500 let alone be battling in a one game playoff for an opportunity to be in the postseason.
The White Sox and Cubs are in the postseason together for the first time since 1906. Kind of amazing isn't it? Well maybe that means that this will be the Cubs year, since they haven't won a World Series since 1908. Anyways, can't wait for the playoffs!
