Todd Jones Retiring
Well Todd Jones is finally calling it quits. I am not shocked that he is retiring after an injury plagued season in which he lost his closers job for the Tigers. What I am shocked about is how long this guy got by with terrible stuff. He didn't throw hard, didn't have much movement on his pitches, and even let up a decent amount of runs, but at the end of the day it is about finishing up the game and getting the save. Jones finished with 319 career saves with Detroit, Houston, Minnesota, Colorado, Boston, Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Florida. He's 14th on the all-time list and his 235 saves for Detroit are a team record. Not bad for a guy who I never thought should have been a closer anyways. Good for you Jones, nice career. Oh, and buy the way...fantastic mustache.
