"The New Orleans Times-Picayune's Jeff Duncan has cautioned New Orleans Saints fans to get ready for life without Deuce McAllister, because he believes the team will be parting ways with the veteran running back within the next two weeks (ESPN)."
Duece will be cut, because he is just too big of a cap hit for a guy who is lucky to get 10 carries a game. If the Saints were to keep him, he would cost them $7.3 million against the cap. Way too much for a team that needs to be doing some rebuilding on the defensive side of the ball. Even though Duece is going to be cut, there is still a good shot the team would try to resign him. He is such a fan favorite, that if he was willing to come back for a much reduced salary, then I don't see a reason for not having him around.
