"The Boston Globe reported that Jason Varitek is seriously considering sitting out the 2009 season or retiring rather than accepting the latest offer from the Red Sox.
The newspaper reported that the deadline for the veteran catcher to accept the offer is Friday morning.
In last week's proposal, the Sox gave Varitek the choice of a one-year contract for a guaranteed $5 million or a one-year deal for $5 million with a vesting option. In the latter scenario, Varitek would earn another $5 million if the team exercises the option for 2010, and $3 million if the option is exercised by the player.
Varitek made $10 million in base salary and prorated bonus money in 2008."

Good I hope you sit out a year douche bag. I'm sure sitting out and being a baby will help you make more money you fucking cocksucker.
