Neither team looked too tired coming off their Game 7 victories. The Penguins survived a late Carolina surge to take Game 1. Philippe Boucher's power play goal turned out to be the game winner. Evgeni Malkin had an assist on that score, and the roles were reversed in the 1st as Boucher assisted a Malkin goal. Evgeni Malkin really is the unsung hero of the Penguins. Maybe not unsung, but certainly overshadowed by Crosby.
Scott Walker, unfortunately, survived.
