Bruins' Top Pick Fractures Collarbone

"Only some six weeks after being selected in the first round of the draft by the Bruins, winger Jordan Caron sustained a fractured collarbone last week while trying out for Canada's entry in the World Junior Championships, prompting Boston general manager Peter Chiarelli today to label Caron ''doubtful'' for Boston's upcoming rookie camp in Kitchener, Ont. ''It doesn't appear to be a [bad] fracture,'' Chiarelli said today, speaking by phone from his office at the TD Garden. ''We expect that it will be a 4-6 week recovery. I don't know the full extent of it yet, but given the standard 4-6 weeks for this kind of injury, and the start date for rookie camp, I would say he is doubtful (Boston.com).''

This is too bad I wanted to see what this kid could do, but in the long run it isn't much of a big deal. The kid is only 18 years old, and is at least a couple years from breaking into the NHL. He should be ready in 4-6 weeks...
