The Sox are going for the sweep of the Jays tonight, and David Ortiz is looking to drive a ball out of the park for the 4th straight game. Boston has Jon Lester on the hill to face Brett Cecil.
Lester has not received a decision in his last four starts, which the Red Sox have split. He yielded three runs and struck out 11 in six innings of an 8-4 victory over Texas on Friday. The left-hander is 2-1 with a 2.33 ERA against the Blue Jays this season, giving up three runs in seven innings of a loss at Toronto on July 19 after allowing a combined two runs with 16 strikeouts in 12 1-3 innings in the two previous outings. I short he has been unreal, and the Sox just need to put some runs on the board. The good news is that they have been doing that lately.
The bad news is that Cecil has been red hot of late going 3-0 with a 2.01 ERA in his last five starts. Boston has combined to score 16 runs in the 2 games against the Jays this series. Boston also lit up Cecil last time they faced him, so hopefully that will carry over tonight.
