Red Sox @ Jays Preview (Lineup Is In)

God that day off from the Sox yesterday felt amazing. I hope the Sox feel the same way...

Boston is now a gamer behind Texas for the Wold Card spot, but at least for 1 day that doesn't worry me. Why? Because Josh Beckett is on the hill. Beckett has a 4-1 record and a 1.80 ERA in his last six starts, and if it wasn't for him and Lester this season would already be over.

Still lets not get cocky, since Beckett is just 1-2 with a 6.85 ERA in four career starts at Rogers Centre. Don't get me wrong I think he is going to crush them tonight, but that could be a stat we look back on if I am wrong.

The Jays are countering with Ricky Romero, which has been one of the nice surprises for the Jays this year (along with Lind). He is 10-5 on the season with a 3.70 ERA, but has struggled recently going 3-2 with a 5.45 ERA in six starts.

There is no reason is over state how important it is for the Sox to get rolling. They have let the division go without a fight, and we are going to see if this team has any heart at all over the next couple of weeks, but for today it is one game at a time, and the Sox have their ace on the hill...

***UPDATE***

Youk is finally back from suspensions, but the Sox have to play without Pedroia tonight as he has felt to go be with his wife for the birth of his child. You'll also notice the Sox benched Ortiz for tonight's game...

1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. J.D. Drew, RF
3. Victor Martinez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. Jason Bay, LF
6. Mike Lowell, DH
7. Jason Varitek, C
8. Nick Green, 2B
9. Alex Gonzalez, SS

Game starts at 7:07pm on NESN.
