What a game we are going to see tonight. Arguably two of the best young pitchers in baseball will go head to head. Lester will be facing off against Garza. Garza has killed the Red Sox going 5-1 with a 2.98 ERA (how many guys can say that at his age?). Lester's record against the Rays is good (4-2), but his ERA is now what you would want at 5.02.
Boston had been struggling, but they seem to have righted the ship after trading for V-Mart and beating up on one of the worst teams in baseball. The question is how they will do against the real competition they will be facing this week (2 games against Ray, 4 against Yankees)?
The Sox are going to be keeping a close eye on Longoria who has crushed them this year (.375 (15 for 40) with five home runs, five doubles and 21 RBIs in 10 games), but he hasn't been very good lately (.196 (11 for 56) in his last 16 games), so hopefully that won't be a problem.
The Rays are currently 5 games behind the Sox, and 5 1/2 behind the First place Yankees, so you know they are going to be going all out during this short series against the Sox. Get the popcorn ready this should be a good one...
