There are also rumors that he might sign on with an NL team to see if he can be a back of the rotation type of guy out there. The Rangers are also said to be kicking the tires too. Call me crazy, but I think he is going to stay and finish what he started with the Sox. I could see him doing his thing in the minors for a couple of weeks, and then coming up as a reliever, which the Sox lately seem like they could use. It is just a thought, but I think Smoltz's pride is not going to let him walk away.
