"After an embarrassing loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, there is much sorrow for fans of the Green Bay Packers. If things don't start to change soon, heads could roll, starting with the two men at the top: head coach Mike McCarthy and GM Ted Thompson.
In a phone interview with Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Packers president Mark Murphy essentially has put both McCarthy and Thompson on the hot seat. While he likely won't rock the boat with an in-season change, he did allow that "at the end the season, I'll sit down and see how we performed (ESPN)."
To be honest before this week I never gave it all that much thought, but I have to say it might be time for a change. The Packers have enough talent to be a playoff team, and they are really under-preforming. The Packers are such a storied franchise, and they have enough good player to bring in a big time coach (Gruden, Cowher, ect). So, if they the Packers don't turn this season around I think McCarthy will be looking for a new job next season.
