Knee Jerk Reaction To The Patriots

It's well documented that I despise the Patriots, I hate them, I love that they lost, I feel like their fans got a taste of their own "fraud" medicine, however, this year I gained a ton of respect for them.

I give a lot of shit to Belichick due to the spygate, arrogant/ stupid calls, and overall way he handles himself but he was able to make this team a regular season power house. The defense was awful and young, and he was able to make them a more then respectable squad. Ultimately the young defense was part of the problem and the lack of experience could have cost them, but they are a work in progress. They were the number 1 seed with this defense, and you would imagine with progression of players and with the draft picks they have, they should be very good coming up.

I don't see Tom Brady changing much from who he is, he has a great offensive line and always has, so I'd imagine as long as he has a pocket he will be effective. When you have a great quarterback like Brady, the pieces around him can change without that much offensive difference.

But their are definitely a lot of questions surrounding this game:
What has happened to Tom Brady? He is starting to gain the title of a regular season quarterback. He has the rings, however, he has choked in the last 3 and since going 10-0 to start his career, he's played mediocre at best in the playoffs since then. Why wasn't he able to adjust mid game?

What was Belichick thinking? The running, the long drives, the fake punt, the lack of urgency. All of these things were very odd. I know he may not be calling the plays, but you would think he has a big hand in it being the control freak he is. Does the lack of urgency calls give credit to the Jets defense or is it over thinking on the Patriots side? Also, does another early loss in the playoffs strengthen the spygate case? Is he overrated?

Is the relationship between the Patriots/ Belichick and Wes Welker strained? Could he be out the door this offseason. Did Wes Welker's foot comments mean all that much to the game outcome?

So the Patriots/ Patriot fans can sulk and be angry, but face it, they over achieved this year and in the playoffs your coach choked, your quarterback choked and your defense got exposed. That won't happen many times more.
