Kings 2 Bruins 0

So much for that offense turning the corner. Kings goalie Jonathan Quick shut down the Bruins making 34 saves on the way to a 2-0 win in LA. It was the Bruins' first shutout loss since a 3-0 defeat to Anaheim on Dec. 20. Basically, it was a typical Bruins outing from the past 3 seasons... lots of shot, not a lot on the board.

Ryan Smyth scored their first power-play goal in eight games and Andrei Loktionov added a goal, helping the Kings get their fifth straight victory over the Bruins. Even with all the recent success against the Bruins the Kings aren't a good team. The Kings have won two straight, but went 3-13 in its previous 16 games.

On top of losing this game the Bruins also got news that Marc Savard was diagnosed with a moderate concussion as the result of a hit by Colorado's Matt Hunwick on Saturday. I always thought if Savard could turn the corner the Bruins offense could really get going, now I'm not sure if Savard will ever play again (more on that later).

Even with the loss the Bruins are still in first place in the Northeast Division.
