Amare Stoudemire got his 16th technical foul (later rescinded) and once you get your 16th you get suspended for a game. We already have seen Dwight Howard get suspended for a game for getting technicals. This is a stupid fucking rule. Last year every playoff game we were worried about Rasheed Wallace or Kendrick Perkins getting suspended for a stupid technical. It's a dumb and costly rule.
There are already major questions surrounding the consistency of calls in the NBA and to suspend one of your best players on what a ref thinks he heard is ridiculous. Technicals can't be avoided, people will always be emotional whether they get a call or not. My resolution to all of this is fine them for every technical. That would get very expensive quickly for a player.
Either way David Stern is getting a little ridiculous.
