Yesterday we saw the Rays put Carl Crawford on the DL with a hand injury. Today, the news was no better, as they had to put their All-Star younger Evan Longoria on the DL with a broken right wrist. Crawford I think will be back in time to have an impact on the remainder of the season, but I think Longoria's year may be over. Wrists are hard to come back from (ask Ortiz or Nomar), and there isn't much time left. It is interesting to see all these guys going on the DL. The Sox lost Wakefield, the Yanks lost Joba, the White Sox lost Contreras, and the Rays have now lost Crawford and Longoria...and this all happened within a week. Wow, but I have to say that this really opens the door for the Sox to take the AL East if they can figure out what they are going to do about Wakefield and Buchholz spots in the rotation.
