Favre Gets What He Wants

"Team president Mark Murphy said in a statement Sunday that the team has a specific plan with Favre in camp that it won't reveal until Monday, but sources told ESPN's Wendi Nix that coach Mike McCarthy will announce he's holding an open competition for the starting quarterback position (ESPN)."

Looks like Favre got what he wanted. Does anyone think that Aaron Rodgers has a shot if this is going to be a real open competition? One, the Fans love Favre, so even if he sucks they will want him. Two, he is Brett Favre, and he still has the tools to be a very good QB. This is Rodgers first real season, of course he is going to struggle. My only hope is that this is just a way to make Favre happy long enough to trade him, because they said they were committed to Rodgers and this seems to be a 180 from that position.
