Dumb Frontrunning California Patriot Fan

I'm in a bar in Monterey (120 miles south of San Fran). There's some band playing, doing cover songs of 90s alternative rock. The lead singer was wearing a Michigan football jersey with the number 12 on it. I asked him, "Who's #12 on Michigan?" He looks at me kind of funny (I'm wearing a Patriots jersey, you see), and says "Tom Brady."

"Oh," I replied, looking kind of funny at him.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that this is Tom Brady when he played for Michigan:



That's a 10, not a 12.

I wouldn't expect many other people to know such a random and meaningless bit of information. Unless, of course, they were looking to buy a Tom Brady Michigan jersey then wear it as they sang "Come as You Are."

But all is not lost. He can claim it as an Elvis Grbac jersey. He wore the number 12 his freshman year, before switching to #15. Matt Gutierrez also wore 12 for Michigan.
