I got some news. This may come as a surprise to many of you but I got the latest and greatest piece of information…the World Series crown is indeed coming home to the NL this year.
Wheeew. That feels good to get off my chest finally.
I lived in Rhode Island for four years, and you know what, I enjoyed myself. I wiggled myself within the Red Sox ‘fan base’. I acquired a handful of friends who are die hard Sox fans in fact and I tried my best to never cross them in matters of the diamond; for their kind is the worst there is to cross in terms of sports differentiation. With that in mind, I studied their ways, and yes…their team was good. “Son of a bitch”, I thought, they were really good. They have young talent, pitching you wouldn’t blow your nose about, and this ‘Big Papi’ fello who is impossible to see in a negative light. Jealousy arose within, but I felt that one day, I would know their joy. The time has come, courtesy of the National League. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t really mind the Red Sox…but I think that they may lose to another team wearing a better shade of red in the October classic.
I would like to declare my prediction publicly and directly; I feel that the Red Sox will meet the Phillies in the World Series. The Red Sox will have home field advantage thanks to the All-Star game, so more than likely it will take six games for the Phillies to triumph. Comment, agree, dissagree, feel free to state anything you want, I wont read it.
Watch.
To those of you Dueling Couches regulars south of Connecticut, I noticed it too….its ok.
It’s 2008.
Phinally.
