Not that this is big news or anything, but Danny Ainge came out and said today that the Celtics will pick up Rajon Rondo's $2.09 million team option for the 2009-2010 season. Ainge said it's going to be done before the 2008 season start,s so there are no distractions for the upcoming year. Rondo made great strides last year, and seems like he will be a conerstone of this team long after the Big Three have moved on. Rondo is only 22 years old and last season averaged 10.6 points, 5.1 assists, and 1.7 steals.
