Patriots Slip Past Rams 23-16

In a game that lacked running backs, Kevin Faulk was the player to put this game away for the Pats making a great TD catch with only 3:19 remaining. The Patriots improve to 5-2 on the season and are now tied for first place with Buffalo, with the 23-16 win over the Rams.

The Rams were without star running back Steven Jackson, but backup Antonio Pittman had a solid day rushing for 83 yards on 19 carries. The difference was at the end of the game Cassel, Faulk, and Moss made key plays to drive the Patriots down the field, while Bulger committed a horrible turnover to Delta O'Neal.

Randy Moss put up some good stats, but also made some costly drops, one of them being in the end zone. Still by the end of the game he had 7 receptions for over 100 yards, and seems to be getting on the same page as Cassel. Cassel, when he had time, looked very good, and I am getting more and more confident that he can run this offense, but he will be really tested over the next 5 weeks, as the Patriots play at Indianapolis, Buffalo, N.Y. Jets, at Miami, and Pittsburgh. Those 5 games will make or break the Patriots season, but I feel a lot better than I did a couple weeks ago.
