Another Day, Another Rant

Yesterday BMack posted a rant piece by Coobs. Well today our friend The Answer has something to say about that:
Yesterday I read an article criticizing the Celtics on Dueling couches. I was shocked. Flabbergasted would be a better word. After The Celtics gave us the best start in NBA history, the longest winning streak in franchise history, and an NBA championship, how can we doubt them. Hot streaks go cold and cold streaks go hot. This is professional sports. Losing 3 out of 4 doesn't worry me in the slightest. It's an 82 games season, trust me this wont be the last time this happens. But when it does there is no need to singal out players like Tony Allen and Eddie House and blame them for your problems.

Now as far as the Celtics problems are concerned, yes, the bench is weak. Tony Allen hasn't been playing incredible but lets face the facts, he's a forever role player and a damn good one. That's it. Don't expect more from him than that. He is not James Posey. Eddie House is a spot shooter. That's it. He is not capable of running the second unit as Rajon does the first unit. Leon and Big Baby are fine big men. Leon is your best player on the bench, and Big Baby is coming along nicely. I think he's a fine back up center. All I've been hearing is "Cetics need a big man off of the bench," but that's not the answer. Not in the slightest.

Now there is a very popular rumor that Stephon Marbury will be the newest Celtic. Celtics fans are freaking out about this. So was I, until I thought about it. So everyone, sit back, relax, and in Danny Ainge we trust. Think about it, Stephon Marbury is a season veteran. Sure he's a fucking prick. The New York Knicks weren't much better. If Stephon Marbury becomes a Celtic he knows he's playing for the world champs, and he's playing behind Rondo. If he signs, the facts are out in the open. Now if Marbury keeps his head on straight then this is exactly what the second unit is missing. A point guard. Move Eddie to shooting gaurd, Tony to small forward and rotate Pierce in and out. The second unit lacks leadership. That's their problem. They need a winner. You better believe that if Rajon ran the second unit and played 48 minutes a game that the second unit wouldn't blow leads. But right now we have a point guard (House) who takes a 3 every time he gets a chance. This can really throw off the balance of a 5 man unit. So Marburys fit to the team he is exactly what we need. But it's not his skills that are under question it's his attitude. I think it's going to be fine. Think about it, if your career was winding down would you wanna play for the Knicks? Hell no. The Celtics represent sacrifice. Paul Pierce, Kevin Garrnett and Ray Allen's numbers are all down since joining the team. But we won the championship and have the best record in the league. Does that tell you something about personal stats? I think Marbury and any other player who may join this teams is thinking "They don't need me, but they're giving me a chance. This team is special, I am not." Doc has gotten everyone to buy into his system. Marbury is like everyone else. He wants to win. I'm not worried at all. Besides, the contract is going to be structured so they can waive his ass if he is a problem and not have to worry about cap room. So worst case, fuck em. Marburyon behalf of myself, and Boston, unofficially, welcome to the Celtics. And i n advance congrats on your new bling bling, or should I say championship ring.
