JT the 2nd Wants Georgetown to Blacken Up the Program

In an AP report filed on Friday, former Georgetown couch John Thompson was quoted as saying the current team was in need of some "thugs.'' This was said on his radio show, a forum he frequently uses to comment and critique the team now coached by his son.

The need for thugs came up when discussing the Hoyas' relative softness against bigger, more physical Big East teams. And after taking in the Georgetown/Providence game this weekend while down in DC, I could not agree more. The team lacks intensity for long stretches and does not seem capable of finishing off opponents with any consistency.

I think we can all agree that the game between Duke and Georgetown at Cameron Indoor Stadium will be quite the test for both teams. Duke can use the game to gear up for their head to heads with UNC and Georgetown can get a read on how much trouble they will be in come tourney time - especially if the lose to the whitest starting lineup in D1 hoops over the past 20 years.
