Welcome to the year of the Wake. He has been unstoppable. Once again he pitched a very good game, even though Kottaras was struggling behind the plate catching the knuckleball. Wake went 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. That is all the Red Sox needed as they absolutely exploded in the 6th inning scoring 12 runs. Yea that is not a typo. Boston broke the AL record of 11 runs in an inning before making an out and tied the modern major league mark of 12. All this without Youk, Ortiz, or Ellsbury in the lineup....damn impressive.
The Indians are really terrible this year. Their bullpen is a joke. Sowers has talent, but has never been able to display in on the Field, and even their hitting has not been as good as year past. Boston on the other hand seems to have hit their stride without a lot of their "stars" hitting theirs. Boston now has a 3 game series against Tampa. This will be a great gauge for the Sox as they have had trouble against the Rays over the past two seasons.
