Ozzie Guillen On His Way Out
Ozzie picked an odd time to ask for a contract extension. The day the White Sox lost the race to the AL Central to the Twins Ozzie demanded to know if he was going to be the manager next season. The comments apparently didn't sit well with White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf nor general manager Ken Williams, neither of whom felt the need to discuss Guillen's future yesterday. We all know Ken Williams and Ozzie don't get along, so I would really be shocked if Guillen was back next year. It just seems about time the team went in a different direction.
Lots of rumors suggest that Ozzie will be the manager for the Marlins next year. Which I think would be a good fit. Ozzie is fiery guy, and that could work well with a very young team.
