Melo To NJ, Maybe Not?

Just when you thought the Nuggets were ready to send Melo to NJ. They spent the weekend talking to other teams in an attempt to see if teams such as New York, Chicago or the Los Angeles Clippers could trump the four-way framework that would bring Nets rookie Derrick Favors, Jazz veteran Andrei Kirilenko and two future first-round picks to Denver in return for Anthony, with the Nets also sending point guard Devin Harris to Charlotte and Utah acquiring veteran forward Boris Diaw from the Bobcats.

I like the approach the Nuggets are taking with Carmelo. Yes, he's amazing, but if you let him play all year he's going to walk away leaving Denver with nothing. If he goes to NJ that would be a hell of a signing for them who struck out on every other free agent this offseason. Melo would obviously be a great starting point, and it seems an extension is the only thing holding up this deal, but they have enough money to make it work.

Prediction: It's a done deal to the Nets this week.
