Big game tonight for the Bruins as they try to take over 2nd place in the Eastern Conference, and make Rob stop being such a negative Nancy pants. The problem is they are playing at home where they are only 15-12-3. The good news? Tampa is only 16-12-3 on the road.
It has already been announced that Tim Thomas will be in net tonight, which isn't really surprising, and I think he will have a great game tonight, because when he is fresh he is the best goalie in the NHL. Thomas has a 1.84 GAA over that stretch and is 9-4-0 with a 2.37 GAA against the Lightning. Still, the Bruins are coming off a long road trip, and I am really worried about this game since the Lightning are 11-4-2 over their last 18 games.
The Bruins, allowing 2.27 goals per game this season, have outscored opponents 20-9 during their current 6 game winning streak. They are going to need to play great defense once again, as Tampa Bay can put in goals in a hurry. The difference tonight will be that Boston is going o out-physical them, and beat them into submission.
Boston's offense didn't look too good last game, but overall has looked much improved since bringing in Kaberle. I am not a believer in Tampa, and I think it's about time they get put into their place. Plus they are 4-21-3 all time when playing in Boston.
Bruins win 4-2
Player of the Game: Ryder
Game starts at 7pm on NESN
