Bruschi Set To Return

"Tedy Bruschi signed a two-year contract last February, and as long as the Patriots want him back, the inside linebacker intends to honor that contract and return for a 14th season, according to a source with knowledge of Bruschi's thinking (Boston Globe)."

I really was hoping the Patriots would start to clear out some of this aging defense, but it looks like some of the guys aren't ready to go. Bruschi was a very good MLB, but he is over the hill, and is really worthless during passing downs. I would really like to see the Patriots draft another LB, or CB in the first round of this years draft. If Bruschi does return, he should only be used for 1st downs, and special situations. He has not been the same player since his stroke, and I really thought it was time for him to hang it up before this year. Mayo has shown that he is going to be one of the better MLBs in the NFL, and if they could add another young LB they would have a nice base to their defense from years to come, especially with how good their defensive line can be.
