What's Wrong With The Celtics

After watching the Celtics lose a bunch of games and barely be able to hold onto a lead against the Raptors, I think it's time we ask the question "What's wrong with the Celtics?"

I have been long avoiding this question because I have been lying to myself that this couldn't be the answer, but; the Celtics are just flat out tired.

The big three are old, let's face it. They aren't going to be around forever, nor are they going to be able to shoulder the load forever. That's why the disappointing bench is hurting this team so much. The more the bench sucks, the more minutes the big three and the starters have to play, the more it makes nagging injuries turn into legitimate injuries. Yesterday the Celtics were up by 20 going into the fourth and somehow they let up to make it a 5 point game at one point. When you are up by 20 there is no reason any of the starting 5 should have to play for more than 5 minutes, however, the bench sucked and luckily the starters bailed them out.

So what is the answer?

It's simple: Fix the bench. I don't know how the Celtics can do it, and I don't know if there's even an option of trading anyone. There have been some names floating around like Stephon Marbury, Fred Jones, and Joe Smith and I think it would be in the Celtics best interest in getting one of them, but I really like our in house guys. Bill Walker can be the next James Posey. He has a sweet shot, plays with endless energy and terrific defense. If he pans out, the Celtics will be back in the drivers seat.
