Marlins @ Red Sox Preview

The Red Sox have the AL's best record despite David Ortiz's struggles for most of the season. Now he is turning it around and the rest of the league is shitting themselves. Tonight Brad Penny will face his former team (Marlins) and Andrew Miller.

Miller has actually pitched against the Sox before. The former Detroit left-hander faced Boston once while he was in the AL, allowing three hits and one run in seven innings of a 9-2 win July 6, 2007. On the season Miller is 2-2 with a 4.30 ERA. He has been pitching well of late letting up only 4 runs over his last 2 starts.

Brad Penny was amazing last time he was on the mound. He went 6 scoreless innings against the Yankees. It impressed so many people that now there are rumors the Sox are thinking of putting Dice-K in the bullpen rather then trading away Penny. I am one of the few that is not sold. I would be if he can string together some more quality starts, and not just turn it on when he needs to. Penny's ERA is still 5.52, but he does have a record of 5-2. Even with my concerns I do think he is going to have another strong outing tonight...

Game starts at 7:10 on NESN.
