Daytona 500 Recap
Before you bravely anonymous jerks comment with "NASCAR Sucks," or any other such jibber jabber, don't worry. I won't be writing too much NASCAR stuff. This was the biggest race of the year, so it deserves at least a little bit of attention.
Jamie McMurray scored an upset victory in the Great American Race, only his 4th career win. He held off a late charge from Dale Earnhardt Jr, who surged from 10th to 2nd in 2 laps.
The surprising and exciting finish helped fans forget a race marred with delays, as a wide pothole - yes, a pothole - opened up in turn 2, and required two delays to repair, totaling nearly 2 and a half hours. Officials blamed unusually cold and wet weather in Florida (it had recently snowed in northern sections of the state) for the pothole.
In the Nationwide Series (the AAA level of NASCAR) race on Saturday, Danica Patrick was caught up in a 12 car wreck. She was cruising in the middle of the field, cars started wrecking in front of her, and her was collected. She finished 35th.
