Wes Welker Injury Update
A source close to the Patriots says that Wes Welker is recovering well from knee surgery. While this is great news for the Patriots, there is still very little chance that he will be ready to go by the beginning of next season. With that being said, the Patriots have to be looking for a replacement. Edelman seems to be the guy. He looks just like him, and showed that he can pick up some of the slack.
The question is who else do the Patriots have? They just picked up Patten, but he wasn't even in the league last year. A guy who could be interesting is Tate, but he hasn't been able to stay on the field. That has led a lot of people thinking that Deon Branch could be on his way back, but I am not sure if that really solves anything. When was the last time Branch was good?
Anyways, you would think they might try to pickup a WR in the draft, but the Patriots haven't had much luck in doing that. Edelman is working out nicely, but other then that it has been really rough. I hope that this all leads to the Patriots focusing more on their running game, because I am sick of having the lead in the 4th quarter, but we can't run out the clock because we have no running attack.
