The Red Sox will try to extend the Rays losing streak to 4 tonight when David Price goes against Dice-K. The Rays pitching has been far from stellar lately, but with David Price on the hill that could change very fast.
Price has never started at Fenway, and that could help the Sox. Price has been having a great year so far going 16-6 with a 2.92 ERA. The left-hander struck out seven and threw eight innings of one-run ball in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over Toronto.
Dice-K is 0-1 with a 5.73 ERA in two starts versus Tampa Bay this season, walking four in each outing. He has also let up 4 runs in each of his last 4 games. The question is whether or not the Sox can score 4 runs. Although they broke out last night I think those night are going to come few and far between as Boston injects more prospects into their lineup.
Rays win 7-3
Play of the Game: David Price
Game starts at 7:10pm on NESN.
