Red Sox @ Mariners Preview

Lester pitched a gem last night, but who doesn't against the Mariners. Now Dice-K will get his chance to pad some stats.

I know that sounds cruel, but it's the truth. The Mariners are just awful on offense, and their ballpark seems to be impossible to put up runs in. That could be good news for Dice-K who is coming off one of his worst performances giving up a season-high 8 runs and 8 hits, including 2 HRs, in 4 2/3 innings of a 14-5 loss to Tampa Bay. He should be much better this time out since he is 2-0 with a 2.23 ERA in five career starts at Safeco.

Luke French takes the mound for Seattle, and in short he is a joke, but even he puts up great stats in this ballpark (3-1 with a 2.01 ERA in four starts and two relief appearances).

The Sox are just a much better team, even when starting their "B" squad. So, unless Felix is pitching I'm picking the Sox every time.

Red Sox win 4-2
Player of the Game: Kalish
