Tonight the Celtics go for their 4th straight win tonight as they host the Bobcats. ‘Bobcat night’ this evening better have a better outcome then it did last time the C’s took then on in the Garden. The Bobcats are one of only 4 teams to come into T.D Bank and leave with a victory.
There’s nothing much to worry about tonight however. The Celtics are almost back to full health….excluding tony Allen and his sidelining calf…so they should handle Charlotte with ease. Paul Pierce brings up an interesting point as he recognizes CHA’s ability to have unexpected hero’s in the course of a game.
Teams with a record like the Bobcats are hard to completely plan for…Pierce said: "It's those teams who are very unpredictable, night in and night out, you have a guy who can just get hot and carry you for one night. You look at a team like Charlotte, there's a lot of young guys still trying to prove themselves in the league, one of them can get the hot hand and get the win."
But still, the Celtics will accept nothing less than a decisive victory this evening.

Bobcat Night in the Garden
Jerry Porter to Jaguars
The Jaguars and disgruntle WR Jerry Porter agreed upon a 6 year 30 million dollar deal. Even though I believe this deal is a tad bit excessive, this gives the Jaguars a potential number 1 WR since Jimmy Smith. Porter has been stuck in a miserable Oakland situation the past couple of years and maybe the change of scenery will make him live up to the potential he once had. This also gives, David Garrard a solid target that can actually run fast and catch.
Vilma Goes To Saints
The Jets Traded Jonathan Vilma in a deal which sends him to the New Orleans Saints for a 2009 conditional 4th round pick. If Vilma can be healthy and recover from his knee surgery, he will be an excellent addition for this Saints defense. He will thrive in a 4-3 defense like he did with the U, and add a new play-maker for this team whose defense is less than par.

Eagles to get Samuel
Get Paid. That is the tattoo on Asante Samuel's arm. That is exactly what he is going to get from the Philadelphia Eagles. He is set to get a maximum 6 year, 60 million dollar deal plus incentives and signing bonus. I've let it be known that I believe Samuel is over-rated and not worth that much, but he will. With this, it is rumored that Lito Sheppard will then go on the chopping block, and it is also reported that the Patriots will be very interested in Lito.

Bruschi Signs Mutiyear deal
Apparently, Tedy Bruschi refuses to retire, and the 18-1 Patriots refuse to give up on him. I guess he can be a serviceable guy for this thin Patriots linebacking group. (yes they have lots of linebackers but they suck) Bruschi has lost his speed, tenacity, and being a game changer the past couple of years. For the Patriots, they need to give up on this guy, he is just not good anymore, out of a 100 scale, Bruschi is a 68 at best.
Also, Kelley Washington was signed. I like this move a lot, especially with Stallworth gone.

Celtics Got Cassell
Sam Cassell and the Clippers finally came to an agreement in a buyout. This means Cassell is Boston bound. I am 100% confident that Sam will be on the C's by next Monday. However, if he wants to be accepted by the Celtics, he must first apologize to Rajon for trying to murder him earlier this season. With P.J. Brown and Sam Cassell on the team, I think the Celtics did a better job than anyone did during the trading deadline.
Top NFL Free Agents
Top free agents position by position:
QB
Derek Anderson (Cleveland)- Looks as if he is going back to Cleveland, but will he be as effective with the contract?
Daunte Culpepper (Oak)-I still believe in him for some reason, I still believe he has a couple good years in the tank.
Todd Collins (Wash)- Can this gritty veteran start? or is he always going to be known as a back-up?
RB
Michael Turner(SD)- Never got an opportunity in San Diego and a team will take a shot on him. I just believe he cannot carry the load of hand offs for a team.
Julius Jones(Dallas)- Everyone loves him, I personally think he sucks. He couldn't start in Dallas and shouldn't start anywhere else. I left Marion Barber off this list because I am assuming he will be resigned by Dallas
Jessie Chatman (Miami)- Proved he can start in Miami last year, some desperate team will take a shot on him.
WR
Randy Moss (NE)- Had a great regular season, fizzled in the play-offs. I think he is leaving the Patriots for his last shot at a huge contract, many Pats fans disagree.
Donte Stallworth (NE)-Is a quality 2 or slot receiver nothing more. Over-hyped because he was on the Patriots and has a cool name.
D.J. Hackett (Seattle)- Potential. That is what everyone has been saying about him for years. This year he has to prove that he is more than just potential.
Devery Henderson (NO)- Dropped some balls last year. Looking to bounce back with a new team, can be as productive as Donte Stallworth.
Bernard Berrian (Chi)-Another over-rated 2/ slot reciever. Is going to get paid this off-season, but for what?
TE
Alge Crumpler(Atl)-The Best Tight End available and a solid red zone target and can also keep line-backers at bay when he is in the flats.
Eric Johnson(NO)- Solid player, can catch red zone T.D.s as well as block too.
OL
Alan Faneca(Pitt)- has been a stud guard for years, and even though he is getting older he will still be a premier offensive lineman.
Flozell Adams(Dallas)- Over-rated in Dallas some team will give him a huge contract.
Jeff Faine (NO)- Great Center potential. Was great in New Orleans and will be a pro-bowler for a long time coming.
DL
Justin Smith (Cin)- The only good thing on Cincy's D, solid pass rusher. I hope the Steelers sign him.
Antwan Odom (Ten)- Very young, has all the potential in the worl the team that grabs him, will get the steal of free agency.
Mike Rucker (Car)-Old veteran from Carolina, will be a good stoppage DT for any team.
Chirs Canty (Dal)-Great Pass rusher in Dallas, decently young, another potential guy.
LB
Lance Briggs (Chi)- Best LB available, great at almost every aspect of the position, great for for a 3-4 team.

Boss Bailey (Det)- Name is awesome first of all. Is very young and has loads of potential, and is very quick.
Michael Boley (ATL)- Extremely versatile and is a big time playmaker.
Rosevelt Colvin (NE)- Good Defending the pass, fast and still decently young. Notice I didn't mention Bruschi and Seau? Well that is because they suck.
DB
Asante Samuel (NE)- Over-rated in my eyes, but is young, quick, and a play-maker(except for when balls fall into his hands during important times of the superbowl)
Marcus Trufant (Seattle)- Young, quick and will be payed. Was the Best corner in Seattle and looking for a long time contract.
Nnamdi Asomugha (Oak)-Another young guy trapped in Oakland, was a pro-bowler and will be an an excellent fit in a team lacking CB depth.

Celtics 92, Cavs 87
The new look Cavaliers had no shot against the Boston Celtics last night. The final score made it seem closer than it actually was. The Celtics dominated the new "best team of the east" in a game that people were calling a "test" for this Celtics team. The Cavaliers still suck, the new guys they got aren't really that much of an upgrade, and this team only goes as far as Lebron wants them to go. The offense for the C's was KG, Pierce, Allen (who had a team high 22), and "Hard Work" Leon Powe. While Delonte and Lebron were the only real offense for the Cavs. Lebron in the second quarter turned his ankle, but seemed fine in the second half. The Celtics look like they are back in cruise control, and hopefully Sam Cassell will be on the team come Friday.

Celtics vs Cavs
Tonight the Celtics play against the new look Cleveland Cavaliers. With Boston somewhat struggling on their west coast trip, this will be a big test for the C's. The Cavaliers have a ton of hype since the trading deadline aquiring Ben Wallace, Delonte West, Wally-World, and Joe Smith. I said in an earlier post I didn't think this trade was really benificial. Tonight the Celtics are looking to reclaim their top spot of the East and shut up all their critics. 7 of Boston's next 9 games are at home, which is a relief, figuring their long west coast tour. I think Paul Pierce will outshine Lebron and the Celtics will win this game by over ten.
Tommy Award winner tonight Paul Pierce.
Celtics Sign P.J. Brown
I absolutely love this move. It adds a tough gritty veteran big man that knows how to rebound. The Celtics have experienced their big men going down like flys this year, and with another experienced PF/C in the rotation it only makes them stronger. P.J. Brown averaged 9.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. If we can also sign Sam Cassell, I think the Celtics will be the front runner in the East and in my eyes best the front-runner to win the NBA Championship.
Being A Steelers Fan
I have to mention the demise of Myron Cope. Long time Steelers announcer. His ridiculous voice and confusing talk made games fun to listen too. He also was the inventor of the "Terrible Towel" which many other teams try to duplicate but be are never able replicate.
Best Of Sean Salisbury
With his firing at ESPN I figured I would do a best-of:
Home Court Advantage
At first glance on TV, the Vanderbilt Commodore's home basketball court looks anything but normal. The first time I saw the court earlier this season, I didn't like it. I thought it looked like a highschool, it was odd, confusing and I imagined if I was a fan there, I would be upset about my seat no matter where I was. Then last night during the #1 ranked Tennessee game, which #14 Vandy won 72-69, I realized that the players and the coaches aren't on the side line like a normal court. The benches are located on the baselines, underneath and to the right of the baskets. Its insane that not only does an away team have to come in and play a tough SEC game and listen to 14,316 Commodore fans but, the away players and coaches need to adjust to the fact that the plays are being called from the baseline, not the sideline. Given, for half the game the offense will be down by it's own bench but thats still further from the point guard than when the coach is closer to half court on a normal court. I know that the format of the court doesn't make that much of a difference in the game play but it is awkward, it is an adjustment and its one thing that sticks in the mind of an away team pulling them away from thinking about basketball. Vandy, their used to it. Its nothing different and their is no adjustment needed. Thats a nice, true, home court advantage.

Way To Go Tennessee
After beating the unbeaten Memphis Tigers 2 Days earlier, and earning themselves the number 1 overall team in the country, the Tennessee Volunteers blew it. The final Score was 72 and 69 and it was a real close game for the most part except for the first have of the first half, Chris Lofton of Tenn finished the game with 25 points and some clutch 3's, but that was not enough. The most questionable call of the day is when Bruce Pearl told his team to not foul Vandy with 44 seconds left. Eventually, a Tenn player accidentally fouled the player with 10 seconds on the shot clock and Foster hit 1 of 2 free-throws. I do not understand this call, I would have fouled immediately to stop the clock. Too me, if the Vols were going to come back Bruce Pearl destroyed their chances with 44 seconds left. Shan Foster of Vandy was phenomenal, he finished with 32 points with 9-13 shooting, and hit some big free-throws at the end of the game.
Either way, this college basketbll season has been amazing. As long as Duke doesn't get the number 1 seeding now, I will be happy.

The United Football League - Coming to a City Near You
Or not. Unless you live in Austin, Birmingham, Columbus, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Louisville, Memphis, New York, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Raleigh, Sacramento or San Antonio. But either way, it's coming. Their website says 2008, Peter King says 2009. Their schedule will coexist with the NFL's though hopefully the games will be during the week and not on Saturday or Sunday.
This is not another Arena league and it is not the NFL Europe. It will succeed, mark my words. Why you ask? Well for starters, Mark Cuban has already signed on as an owner so the league will get plenty of free press. Most importantly, they are going after NFL talent. From a coaching and management standpoint, they hope to get current NFL assistants to fill the roles and they are ready to pay up. Coaches can allegedly earn up to a million a season, while GM's can collect half as much. As for players, the leagues plans on poaching from NFL rosters, targeting mid-low tier players offering way more than the players would make as reserves in the NFL.
The UFL rosters will be filled out with all-stars from Arena who will most likely make the league minimum of $75,000 (or 3x the Arena league max). Additionally, I'm sure some paroled former college studs could expect a phone call (read: Maurice Clarett) and maybe some washed up guys that probably had no shot in the NFL to begin with (read: DaCody Fagg).
Bye Bye Colvin
The Patriots are expected to release OLB Rosevelt Colvin accord to Boston.com. It looks like the Patriots are going to even be in a bigger hole when it comes to thier linebackers. Colvin was over-rated anyways and would have cost them too much to keep (he was owed 5.5 mil) however, with Bruschi and Seau both unrestricted free agents and maybe retirement, the Patriots are going to have to do something about their lack of LBs. But don't worry 18-1 Patriot fans, the mastermind Bill Belichick will find a way to solve this.
The Knicks Everyone
This is how Isaiah Thomas' master plan worked out.
Yao Ming Out For Season
Yao Ming is out for the season with a stress fracture in his left foot. This will require to have season ending surgery. At least the Rockets got Gerald Green at the trade deadline. I believe he will be able to replace Ming just fine. (sarcasim) So I guess there goes their play-off hopes.
Dynamic Duo? Maybe?
There is a RUMOR that the Dallas Cowboys have been talking to Randy Moss about a potential deal. It makes sense figuring Dallas Likes to spend. How fun would it be to Watch T.O. and Randy Moss on the same team? Randy may have been well behaved in New England, but we can all sense Randy cares more about his C.R.E.A.M.

Is NASCAR Worth It?
So my buddy "Jebediah" really wanted to bang some Honduran Chick, and the first night he attempted to "f" her, he failed due to her saying she was "Bloated". So she gave him a message and both her and "Jeb" went to bed, in the same bed. "Jeb" then says to her, he can't fall asleep with other people in the bed and she got really upset and stormed out of his room without talking to him. The next day, she comes back, sending him a text saying she wants all her stuff back. She then stops by "Jeb's" room and starts making out with him (even though she smells like an old italian sub), then asks him if he wants a quicky. He declines due to NASCAR starting momentarily and ordered an italian Sub, with extra hots during the race.
What would you do, if you were in "Jeb's" position?
Boston104, LA Clippers 76
“Every Celtic who has played in this game has scored.”
Mike speaks the truth, each man in green that saw some minutes tonight in LA got at least 1 bucket; tallying up to the final score of 104-76. There was but one man on the roster who didn’t make an appearance….the lonely Scott Pollard. Despite the faint chants of “Pollard! Pollard!” in the beginning of the 4th quarter, Doc decided to make the cheese stand alone; actually, he made the cheese sit alone. Unofficial reports say Pollard may have gotten gum placed in his hair earlier tonight as a prank and never fully recovered by game time….Rajon was unavailable for comment.
There’s nothing like a feel good game like this gotta love Clippers night; and they needed it now more than ever. With this dominant victory the C’s finish up their shaky west coast journey on a positive note. The leading scorer for Boston was Jamey Posey with 17 pts including 4-6 from beyond the arc.
Besides Posey, Pierce continues makin it rain dropping 17 tonight his damn self. Tommy gave Peirce his TA tonight because of his leadership when they needed it the most. Garnett also looked strong and he continues to make the Boston faithful feel at ease about his comeback. One game at a time Big Ticket.
Even though they lost the first 3 games of the trip (Den, GS, and PHX), they take this bit of momentum back to the Garden with them as they prepare for the Lebron, Ben and the Cavs on Wednesday. Fuck those three losses, from now on they have to realize that they’re playoff bound…that’s a done deal, its time to beat the teams they will see when they get there. It begins on Wed with fellow Eastern Conference contenders in the Cavs.
By the way, former Rhody Ram Cuttino ‘Mostly’ Mobley, had 7 pts on 3-11 shooting.

Peter King
I'm no fan of Peter King's. In fact, I can't really recall a time when I read his MMQB column and didn't get worked up in a fit of rage. He's a shameless self-promoter and his stories about life as a coffee drinker or his daughter's cell phone bill really irritate the shit out of me. Nevertheless, I read him week in and week out because he does have access to more information than any of the jerk-offs over at Pro Football Talk.
I just finished this week's column where he recaps the happenings from the combine out in Indianapolis. He delivers this little nugget in his quotes section -
"I've got this old saying: A spade is a spade. I'm definitely a spade.''
--Central Florida running back Kevin Smith, in the middle of a group session with reporters Saturday.
I didn't know what he meant, so I asked him to clarify. "If you have game, you have game," he said. "I'm not one to try to hide it. I'm not trying to boost any attributes of myself. I play the game of football. Everyone who watches me, you either like it or you don't. I play running back and I'm very good at playing running back."
Oh. Now I get it.
I actually found that mildly amusing. Peter King managed to be hip for 2.3 seconds.
Bryant Mckinnie Is A Bad Man
Bryant Mckinnie is no stranger to negative publicity. Yesterday, he added a whole new chapter to his legacy as a scumbag. The former "Loveboat" arrestee, Mount McKinnie is up to his old tricks again. I guess a guy kicked him out of a club and he left pissed, went to a nearby strip club to blow off some steam, then went back to the original club and bashed the bouncer's head with a pole who had kicked him out originally. To read more of the story click here.
At least he didn't go to the U, right?

Darren McFadden is Ridiculous
Darren McFadden will be tough to pass up for any team this year. During the NFL combine McFadden ran his 40 time in 4.33 second (which is better than Adrian Peterson) and basically had an all in all better draft work out than AP. There has been speculation the Cowboys may trade their 2 first round picks and Marion Barber for the first over-all, which belongs to Miami. I don't blame them, either. If McFadden turns out to be the real deal he could make a team great, no matter who you put around him.
On mock drafts they have him going between 3-7, but as long as the Patriots don't get him, I will be happy.
Antoine Walker Coming Back
I'm completely making that up. However, I don't see it being a bad move if he gets bought out by the Timberwolves. Antoine was always one of my favorite players and I hope he comes back. He would be more useful than Brent Barry, or Jamaal Magloire, Right?

112 Celtics, 102 Blazers
After watching URI lose, by the end of the first quarter of this Celtic's game I was contemplating killing myself. Then, like Paul Pierce after getting stabbed, the Celtics got pissed. Pierce finished with 30 points on 12 of 14 shots, while getting 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The Celtics went on a 15-4 run to get themselves back in the game. Eventually momentum carried them to capture the lead for good. Travis Outlaw had a team high for the Blazers with 24 points.
During the game Mike and Donny mentioned the names of a few potential waver pick-ups : Brent Barry, Jamaal "Big Cat" Magloire and Flip Murray. The Clippers also have to waive Cassell by March 1st if the Celtics can claim and use him for the play-offs. I don't really get the Barry pick up, but I do like Magloire and Murray.
Anyways, the Celtics did great tonight, and hope to carry this win to tomorrows game against the Clippers.

Great Road Trip for Boston
The Bruins finished their five game road trip with a record of 4-0-1. Murray finally stepped up since his mid season injury netting two goals. Alex Auld played outstanding between the pipes, saving 25 of 28 shots on net. As for the team overall, I thought they overcame the Lightning’s first goal and came back at the end of the first period and played top-notch hockey. The B’s are now a team to watch out for, they are on a good streak, but we will have to see when they come back home on Tuesday night against one of the best teams in the NHL, The Ottawa Senators. During the last appearance between these two teams, the Bruins spanked the Senators 4-1, so that being said, I look forward to seeing a great game once again between the number one Senators and the third place Bruins.

Who's Slimier - College BB Coaches or Ticket Scalpers?
Serious question.
Sometimes on the way into the Garden or Fenway Park, I walk by those shady characters in leather jackets and stonewashed jeans hawking overpriced tickets for seats with obstructed views and I feel really dirty. Just being around them leaves me aching for a shower. I'm pretty sure I'd get the same feeling if I spent any quality time with a D1 college basketball coach.
To be fair, I'm not speaking to every coach out there, just 75% of them. I don't want to include the good guys like Coach K, Chris Collins, Johnny Dawkins or Steve Wojciechowski. You know the 75% I'm talking about - Bobby Knight, Eddie Sutton, Jerry Tarkanian, Kelvin Sampson, Quin Snyder, Jim Harrick (Sr and Jr), Bob Huggins, Billy Gillespie, John Calipari, Rick Pitino, etc, etc... Jesus, I think I could go all day naming skeevy coaches.
You know who the shadiest of all is? Braintree, MA's own Jim Calhoun. God I fucking hate this guy. He left his ethics at the door some 36 years ago and hasn't been back to pick them up since. It seems like every two or three years he finds himself in some moral quandary in which he almost always sides with the devil.
UCONN lost a nail biter to struggling Villanova on Saturday. During the game, reserve Curtis Kelly went down with a dislocated elbow and the Huskies found themselves sucking wind down the stretch with limited depth and some foul trouble. UCONN had won their previous ten games and were sitting pretty at 4th in the Big East. With Kelly gone for the season and Marquette nipping at their heels, what better time to reinstate Jerome Dyson who had been suspended for the previous nine games for a failed drug test.
Unbelievable how the rules only apply so long as the player is in no position to help Jimbo's team. This is almost identical to the controversy surrounding Marcus Williams during the 2005/2006 season where he and teammate A.J. Price swiped some laptops from campus dorms. Both were suspended but when it became apparent that UCONN's success depended on their stud point guard, Williams was reinstated while Price was forced to sit out the season. Typical horseshit move by a horseshit coach.
Best Hockey Fight Ever?
Okay, so this is a great hockey fight, and I think you should all focus on the fact that despite the NHL has been going downhill, we can all say that any hockey player can dominate in a fight. I know this is from a while ago, but this is why I continue to watch the bruins.

URI vs St. Joes
If URI wants any shot at getting back into the big dance, then today is a MUST WIN. St. Joes is a bubble team just like the Rams, so it would be a pretty big win. Hopefully we can end a very bad week on a good note, and not go 0-3 at home. I had such high expectations of this past week, but the team totally killed it with their lackluster play. That being said, they could salvage it with a win against a very solid St. Joe's team. St. Joe's has won at Creighton, UMass, Siena, and Temple. They almost beat the Cuse, Charlotte, and X on the road. This is not going to be a pushover at all. Rhody needs to stay focused and GET JIMMY OPEN LOOKS. Martelli is a great in-game coach, vs Baron who is a absolute joke of an in-game coach. Will this be the difference and give St. Joe's the edge that they will need in this one. Parfait needs to shut down Calathes and his 3 point shot, as well as his penetration. For Rhody, Baron should bench Seawrong. It seems like no one even wants to play anymore. I don't see a lot of emotion at all. Please win today Rhody. Please. Please. Please don't fuck up and entire season in one week.
PS-Fuck St. Joes stupid mascot.

Memphis vs Tennessee
The 26-0, number 1 ranked Memphis Tigers, are taking on the number 2 Tennessee Volunteers. I haven't been this excited for a college basketball game since the Ohio State vs Georgetown last NCAA tournament. This is the game of the year by far. St. Joe's a few years ago was the last time a team almost went undefeated for the season. These in state rivals both average above 80 points per game while holding opponents to around 60 points. Both have a run and gun style of offense and on paper are extremely similar. Tennessee is led by Tyler Smith and senior Chris Lofton. While the show time Memphis Tigers are led by Chris Douglas-Roberts, Joey Dorsey, and outstanding freshman guard Derrick Rose.
I like Tennessee in this game. I also expect Chris Lofton to have a huge impact and clutch performance as well.

Sam Cassell News
With the Celtics losing three in a row, I have became extremely depressed. I try to make reason out of any positive thing I can about the Celtics. Since the trading deadline has passed and Sam Cassell didn't get dealt, it looks more and more like he will be bought out. I have not forgave him for being a complete duesche bag the last time we played the Clippers. It will take a lot for me to get over him trying to kill Rajon. However, it is apparent with this losing streak we need something. Maybe, Sam can be the solution.

Ouch!!!
I Wanna Talk to Sampson
Controversial coach Kelvin Sampson has been fired today. He was bought out for 750,000 dollars and he will most likely never coach again. I don't believe in firing him now especially because Indiana is having an outstanding season. None of his players are to be suspended or kicked off the team (yes I'm referring to you Eric Gordan). Number 14 Indiana is taking on Northwestern tonight. Is there a Bobby Knight call soon to be made?
Doesn't Kelvin Sampson remind you of this generations Jim Harrick Sr.?

Chick of the Day
Shannna Moakler is hot because she represented Rhode Island in the Miss Teen USA pageant in 1992, and she was born in Providence so that means she's probably a bit skanky. She also punched Paris Hilton in the face after Paris and Shanna's husband, Travis Barker, were seen getting to first base in a night club. Paris is an ugly troll so that makes Shanna cool in my book, plus she's kinda crazy, and you know what? I dig it.

Celtics Piss Me Off, But.......
This will make you laugh
Celtics vs Suns
Tonight the Celtics take on the Suns of Phoenix. The Celtics are 0-2 on this west coast road trip, including a heart breaking buzzer beater at Golden State. Kedrick Perkins will have his work cut out for him while defending recently acquired Shaq. Look for Big Baby and Leon Powe to have a big impact on the barn burner in Phoenix. Manifest destiny people.
The Tommy Award winner tonight will be Big Baby for his good defense and extra effort while defending the Big Diesel.

Another Endorsement , Kinda?
As I was calling the URI vs Umass game last night, I saw the Minutemen stretching in front of the WRIU press table. I locked eyes with Gary Forbes, and made the "moose hands" at him:
At first he looked pissed, then gave a little chuckle.
Well what do you know? At the end of the game, right after URI blew it, the 28th leading scorer in the country, Mr. Forbes, ran up to me and gave me the "moose hands" back with an arrogant smurk. When I caught up with Gary he said, "I was thinking of doing it back to you the whole game." I'm glad he was thinking of me the throughout a close and important match, because it gave me a glimpse of happiness during a painfully irritating time. However, the most breaking news was that Forbes gave me his autograph and before his name he wrote, "Dave is way better than Bob." I don't know whether or not that's an endorsement for D.C., but I do know it's an endorsement for me over Bob, which is almost better and certainly sweeter.
Looking Back on The Cavs Deal
I don't like it and here's my breakdown:
Cleveland obtained Ben Wallace who has been absolutely terrible since leaving Detroit. They nonsensically gave up the statistically better Drew Gooden who is 7 years younger and 9 million dollars cheaper. I think Ben is past his prime and will hurt their salary later on.
Along with Ben, The Cavs gained Wally Szczerbiak who's been inconsistently unhealthy for roughly 4 years. He couldn't play defense if his life depended on it, but maybe he can hit an open jumper is their prayers are answered. As a Celtics fan, I was celebrating when we got rid of his uselessness and his fist pumping ways. Also, has a ridiculous salary.
Delonte West is going to Cleveland as well, and as a Celtics fan, I love him. However, the kid cannot stay healthy like Wally. He is a tough, gritty duel guard who has great intangibles that may make up for missed games. I hope he thrives with Lebron, but he isn't an upgrade from Larry Hughes.
I think Joe Smith is actually the best player they got. Although he has been a complete first round first pick bust since coming out of Maryland, he has a big presence down low in the post. He's a veteran, and that will be extremely imperative come post-season. The Cavs now have a surplus of big men with Wallace, Big Z, Vareajo, and Smith. My bold prediction is that Smith will be more of a factor than Wallace.
For an over-all grade of this trade, I give the Cavs a solid C.

Happy 22 and 2 Birthday Rajon
Both Rajon Rondo of the Celtics and Rajon Rondo the guinea pig are celebrating their respected 22 and 2 birthdays.
Rajon Rondo of the Celtics will be looking to get the team back on track tonight verses the Suns.
Rajon Rondo the guinea pig will be looking not to get eaten tonight.
Happy Birthday guys, You are real American heroes.
Also, happy birthday to Katrina Geannakopolous one of our biggest fans

Fishy Commercials
I hate Lent. I’m not a practicing Catholic, but I hate Lent for one reason: fish. Every February, the popularity of fish swells as Catholics devour the flaky meat every Friday. This spawns an increase in fishy commercials. McDonald’s hardly ever advertises their fish filet in other months. Wendy’s just came out with a new fish sandwich. The Gorton’s Fisherman is working overtime selling his sticks. How ridiculous is it that in some ad agency some guy had to say “The Catholics eat fish during Lent, so let’s come out with the new fish sandwich in February.” What’s next? Appetite reducing pills marketed toward Muslims during Ramadan?
I saw all these fish commercials during the Bruins 5-4 victory over Florida. Why the fuck does Florida have an NHL team? Why does it have two? Why are there more teams in Florida than there are teams in the province of Quebec? How come Anaheim has a team, but Milwaukee doesn’t? And who the hell came up with the bright idea of giving Nashville a team? Do you know how often I forget that the Predators even exist? Why does The South (former CSA states) have the same number of NHL teams as Canada?
And the names of these teams all suck. The Predators? What’s their minor league team called? The Child Predators? The Panthers? The Lightning? The Thrashers? The only interesting team name in the South is the Dallas Stars, and that’s because they used to be the Minnesota North Stars.
There are some stupid team names all over the place. Harvard Crimson? What is a Crimson? Do you go to a party and say “I’m a Crimson” hoping to get laid? How about Dartmouth Big Green, or Cornell Big Red? These are Ivy League schools, and the best names these smart people could come up with were picked out of a Crayola box.
And it isn’t just D-IAA college teams. How about The Stanford Cardinal? The Denver Nuggets mind as well call themselves the Denver Turds. The New Jersey Nets? They’re named after a piece of the court! If the Houston Texans moved to LA, would they be the LA Californians? Naming your team after a natural disaster (Carolina Hurricanes, Iowa State Cyclones) is somewhat bizarre, but it’s downright retarded to do it where the disaster will never occur. But I guess the University of Tulsa Hurricanes just couldn’t resist.
And why does every team need a nickname? There’s not enough good names to go around. How many teams named Wildcats, Hawks, or Eagles are there in this country? You know what the name of my Little League team was? Denver. And we lost to Raleigh in the town finals. WE didn’t need no fucking nickname.
And can we stop with all the St. Patrick’s Day uniforms and hats? I’m Irish, but enough is enough. The Sox used to wear green caps in Spring Training on March 17th, now they were those red and green Christmas looking things. And other teams are getting in on the action of selling some green tinted merchandise. Someday, basketball and hockey teams will start selling Yarmulkes with their team colors on them. Mark my words.
