The Celtics announced today that the club has requested waivers on forward Darius Miles. The training camp roster now stands at 15.
“Darius was a model citizen during his time here in Boston. He showed that he still has a lot of basketball left in him.” said Celtics executive director of basketball operations/general manager Danny Ainge said in a press release.
Miles signed as a free agent Aug. 22, 2008. The 6-foot-9-inch, 235-pound forward appeared in six preseason games, averaging 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game.
Like I have been saying, I think it is a travesty Miles was cut before Brian Scalabrine, but whatever. We couldn't eat Scals contract and/ or Ainge wouldn't admit his mistake. Miles could have been a good player, but not a huge loss with the emergence of Bill Walker.
On another note: JR Giddens is D-League bound.
