Bob Cousy will not be a part of the Celtics' television broadcast team this season after Comcast SportsNet decided not to retain the 80-year-old basketball legend, the Worcester Telegram's Bill Doyle reported this morning.
“Some low-level executive called me,” Cousy told the newspaper in a phone interview yesterday, “and basically said that they decided to do two-man booths and they no longer needed my services. I said thank you very much, have a good year and I hung up on him.”
Cousy told the Telegram he was disappointed, but not upset.
Fuck CSN. I love when Cous called games. He was and is a legend and to hear him was pretty cool. They already have Tommy saying nonsensical things, why not have two senior critters. I am not going to have CSN in New Orleans, but my favorite games the passed year is when Cous was on.
