"The NFL Network's Adam Schefter this morning tossed a little cold water on Patriots Nation, saying he found it extremely unlikely the Patriots would trade for Panthers defensive lineman Julius Peppers. "That trade is not gonna happen. ... Julius Peppers will not be a New England Patriot next season," Schefter said on Boston sports radio station WEEI this morning, seeming to counter yesterday's report by fellow NFL Network reporter Vic Carucci that has caused enormous buzz among Patriots fans (Boston.com)."
Fuck you Adam Schefter. Well I still think there is a real possibility that this trade will happen. The Patriots are stacked with picks, and Carolina needs to rebuild. I also think Peppers wants to be here. He wants to prove he is one of the best players in the NFL, so I think he will come here for 1 year, try to win a Super Bowl, and then cash in. Schefter makes a lot of good points, but I really think there was a reason why the Patriots traded Cassel and Vrabel, and this would make the most sense. With Peppers on the team, the Patriots could fix thier poor pass rush from last season. Add that with the upgraded secondary, and the Pats are back on top.
