Sox 7 Tigers 6
- Like I said earlier Penny was awesome throwing 3 scoreless innings.
- Sox hit back to back to back to back HRs. Mike Lowell, Jason Bay, Chris Carter, and Ivan Ochoa hit consecutive homers to left field off Brandon Lyon in the sixth inning.
- Oritz seems to be improving every game as he went 2-3, and now has batting average up to .273 for the spring.
- Papelbon, Saito, and Lopez each threw a scoreless inning. No word on what Papelbon's velocity was, but I haven't heard it was bad, so at least that is a good sign.
- Kevin Youkilis, who returned from the World Baseball Classic Wednesday with a mild sprain of his left ankle and mild Achilles' tendinitis in his left foot, made his Spring Training debut and played four innings in the field, going 0-for-1 with a walk. He is scheduled to play again Wednesday and Friday. He said he feels 100%.
- Fantasy Note: Look for Edwin Jackson to have a good year this year. He has a hell of a lineup behind him, and has been pitching well this spring. He pitched 4 scoreless innings against the Sox.
Boston plays the Yankees tonight at 7:15pm.
